In a 10 km distance from the Dereskos family vineyard on the road to Pylos the Nestor’s Palace Remains are located .The Palace is dated from the 13th century B.C .and considered to be one of the most important cultural centers of the Mycenean civilization . The excavations in Pylos Palaces from C.W. Blegen in 1956 state that linear writing B is a premature from of the Greek language.
 
Many stamps, potters and small stamp text were discovered during these excavations proving that Greek language was spoken and written in the Aegean and Inion area 5-7 hundred years before the Homere era.

Also in a distance of one and a half hour by car is the historical place of Ancient Olympia the birthplace of the Olympic Games.
